  • We have confirmed proof-of-technology for our ocean cleanup technology in October 2021, and we have been cleaning the Great Pacific Garbage Patch since.
  • Deployed 15 river Interceptors in 8 countries, with many more in the pipeline.
  • Removed over 15 million kilograms (34 million pounds) of trash from the environment.
  • Grew from a team of volunteers, to over 140 employees – building on a strong foundation for scale-up in oceans and rivers around the world.

    Dutch foundation:
    The Ocean Cleanup is registered as ANBI foundation in the Netherlands (Stichting The Ocean Cleanup). If you donate on this page, you donate to this foundation. You will get an automated receipt per email after donating here on this page. You can use this receipt for your tax filing. 

    US foundation:
    It is also possible to support the mission of ridding the oceans of plastic via American Friends of The Ocean Cleanup, Foundation. A registered 501(c)(3) foundation for US donors. You can donate to this foundation here.
