One World - One Ocean!!! 2025

Greetings Friends and Donors,

I wanted to take a moment to update you on both the progress of TheOceanCleanup.com and my own cycling and fundraising progress since I have joined this mission.

In 2024, TheOceanCleanup created their first product from recycled river plastics from the Rio Las Vacas in Guatemala; this was a limited edition album by the band, ColdPlay "Moon Music", and was made from 70% recycled PET from trash they captured, sorted, cleaned and recycled. The limited edition album sold out! This was exciting news, because it means that beautiful and lasting products can be created from plastic waste as it is blocked from reaching our Oceans. Which leads to the next exciting milestone in 2025, a colorful spectrum of recycled Ocean Plastic has been developed into "The Ocean Cleanup Materials Portfolio". What do you think the next product made from Ocean Plastics should be? Please reach out at http://TheOceanCleanup.com/contact to let the team know of an idea or business you feel should be using recycled ocean plastics in their products.

In February, I completed another 1,000 miles cycled in Florida with many daily rides between Jensen Beach and West Palm Beach, the average day about 30 miles and the longest day, 75 miles. I continue to advocate for ending the releases from Lake Okeechobee into our estuaries as the imbalance in the salinity kills sea grasses and destroys ecosystems. I created a spreadsheet showing the 19 vessels of TheOceanCleanup.com around the world to help me memorize where the work is being done. I used a color-coding spectrum to help me remember the locations. The warm colors represent the Asias and the cool colors represent The Americas. Please take a look. I hope to create a colorful map and data visualization to go along with this. The current links in the spreadsheet go directly to the website and show photos and videos of each vessel in action. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-Xq1bWief7JsXiG6D6Yk62ZH_L5qy6x-N5BiOgmjEzA/edit?usp=sharing

If you would like to make a new donation in 2025 honor of my continued effort to cycle fossil-fuel free for the planet and Earth Day 2025, I thank you for your continued support! All proceeds go directly to TheOceanCleanup.com and you will get a tax receipt and thank you by email right away. I hope you will continue to follow along with the work this trailblazing non-profit is doing for our Oceans and waterways around the world. Thank you! -Colleen

Let's give them the funding they need to finish the job!

I set this fundraiser up for "THE Ocean Cleanup .com" - ***The World's Biggest Operation of People, Shipping, Technology and Mechanical Barrier Solutions in History to Remove 90% of ALL Ocean Plastics*** on Earth Day, 2024. Yes.... They are an INCREDIBLE non-profit, doing the work to clean up what was once believed to be impossible to clean up. In 2024, they removed 11,000 tons of plastic from our World's Oceans-- this is approximately the weight of 5,500 elephants!  Yes, it's that BIG!  The only thing they need now is FULL FUNDING - an estimated 4.5-7 Billion, to finish the job of cleaning the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and ALL of the World's Most Polluted Rivers... but, it's still not just a "clean up". It's EDUCATION. It's training every country and their native residents how "not to dump into their rivers" while also teaching them how recycling the plastics can make new products and profit, and that having clean water is priceless. It is our ocean that saves us, cools the very air we breathe and the rain that falls, so it does not ultimately damage our shorelines and homes. Plastics have been killing our whales, turtles, fish and birds for decades. Plastics in our Oceans make it harder for our Oceans to "work properly" and harder for them to sequester carbon, and all of this has been proven by the many researchers who have worked on the many vessels of The Ocean Cleanup over the past ten years. This is a monumental mission that would be, above all, blessed by Gods. It is worth your donations because you will see the proof of the work being done all over the world, through videos and community triumphs. No donation is too small. Sharing this mission can only help them get the work done faster. Please, keep it going and tell your children to have hope. Never give up! Thank you for supporting my fundraiser for THE Ocean Cleanup .com and sharing with your friends and family. Donate, Sponsor, Become a Global Partner, join my team, or start your own fundraiser today. Thank you. -Colleen

I went Fossil Fuel Free in 2024—5,000 miles by bike and counting! (8,047 Kilometers)

I solo cycled 5,000+ miles (8,047 Kilometers) in 2024 and completed my first “fossil fuel free” year by bicycle with the use of public transportation only in emergencies. It’s been an incredibly transformative experience. I am grateful for your continued support of this fundraiser for TheOceanCleanup.com the largest Ocean Cleanup in World History, AND the only non-profit that is on track to remove 90% of ALL PLASTICS from our Oceans. Founded by Boyan Slat, a 16 year old from the Netherlands, this company has grown into one of the most inspiring nonprofits in the World for Ocean Lover's. Please visit TheOceanCleanup.com to learn more.

We are on a mission to clean the oceans!

Welcome to our page!

I set up this fundraiser with the aim of raising as much money for TheOceanCleanup.com as possible as I cycle from Hobe Sound, Florida, up the East Coast of America, towards Washington, DC and NYC, eventually reaching my  parents and my childhood home.

The Ocean Cleanup’s mission is to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040.

Please think about giving any donation you can to support us and The Ocean Cleanup. If you could inform your friends and family about this fundraising, it would be greatly appreciated. The impact increases with the number of people that are aware!

A cause like this is important for us, as we hope that every generation can enjoy a healthy and clean ocean.

Thank you in advance for your generosity; it means a lot!
