I set up this fundraiser because I find it important to support organizations like The Ocean Cleanup, to get a cleaner and healthier ocean for all! The Ocean Cleanup’s mission is to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040.

Embracing Diani: A Journey from Nairobi to ABSA Beach

A New Beginning
In March 2024, I left the bustling city of Nairobi and ventured to Diani, a coastal paradise I had only dreamed of visiting. The sight of the vast ocean greeted me with an overwhelming sense of awe. It was my first encounter with the serene beauty of the sea, and I instantly fell in love with the tranquil ambiance and the vibrant marine life that flourished here.

Finding Home at ABSA Beach
Circumstances led me to ABSA Beach, a hidden gem along the coastline, where I decided to make my home. The soothing sounds of the waves and the breathtaking sunsets quickly became my daily companions. Living here has been a transformative experience, filling my days with peace and purpose.

A Mission of Preservation
Every morning, as the sun rises over the horizon, I begin my day with a commitment to preserving the natural beauty of ABSA Beach. Equipped with gloves and a garbage bag, I comb the shoreline, collecting litter and ensuring the beach remains pristine for all to enjoy. My routine has not only improved the environment but also fostered a deep connection with the local community and visitors alike.

Welcoming Visitors to a Coastal Haven
As I clear the beach of debris, I take pride in maintaining a welcoming entrance for visitors. I often find myself engaging with tourists, sharing stories about the sea life and guiding them to the best spots to witness the wonders of the ocean. Whether it's a family on vacation or a solo traveler seeking tranquility, I strive to make their experience unforgettable.

Building a Future
Living in Diani has inspired me to start a business that reflects my passion for the environment and the community. I'm currently working towards launching an eco-friendly venture that promotes sustainable tourism and marine conservation. This business will not only support my livelihood but also contribute to the preservation of this beautiful coastline.
