I set up this fundraiser because I find it important to support organizations like The Ocean Cleanup, to get a cleaner and healthier ocean for all! The Ocean Cleanup’s mission is to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040.

I have finished the junior great run🥳

Sunday 26th May

I am excited announce that I have finished the junior great run.

It was a sunny day and at the Etihad Stadium, there were a lot of people and around 1250 kids aged 9-15, some accompanied by their parents. They were about to run 2500 m.

Before I started, I felt anxious. As the gun fired, everyone started running. Thousands of footsteps sounded like thunder.

Despite the sunny weather, the 2500 m were still hard. Even though my legs were tiring, and my stomach was hurting, I sprinted on.

When I saw the finish line, I felt elated, so I sprinted the last stretch, and through the finish line I went.

It was an amazing time at the junior great run.

Why I am fundraising for the ocean cleanup.

3.7 billion years ago, humans were still microbes that live in the ocean. They do not know that the ocean would have a big change. In 1907 plastic was invented. Since then, there would be 14 million tonnes of plastic carelessly discarded in the ocean. We are throwing plastic in what would’ve been our home 3.7 billion years ago. Right now, there are still organisms in the ocean. We are putting their lives at risk. That’s why it is important to donate to charities like ocean cleanup. I am fundraising by running the AJ Bell Junior Great Manchester Run on Saturday the 25th May 2024 which is 2500m in length as I am 9 years old. I have been preparing since Year 3 as I walked 40 minutes a day to the bus stop. I hope that with our hard work we can stop litter and waste going in the ocean, and our old home.
