We are raising funds to clean the oceans!

Hey everyone!

This winter, we’re taking the plunge into the North Sea every week. Not only is it a great way to boost our health, but we also want to support a cause that matters.

We set up this fundraiser because we find it important to support organizations like The Ocean Cleanup, to get a cleaner and healthier ocean for all! The Ocean Cleanup’s mission is to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040.

Every dip we take will help raise awareness and funds for this important mission.

Join us in making a splash for our health and for a great cause! Your support means the world to us!

Thanks,

Zuzana & Véronique

My Updates

November 30: Week 10

Sunday 1st Dec
Marking week 10 of our challenge, what a journey has it been so far! Yesterday morning started off sunny but freezing, with temperatures around zero. The bike ride to the beach was frosty, and the cold wind made my ears sting the whole way there. We had a beach sauna reservation with Véro, Jasmeen, and Francesca, so we made the milestone extra gezellig. And yes—we went for two plunges! The first dip was insanely cold, like a shock to the system, but by the second round, it already felt a little easier. Fran and Véro braved the water with me, while Jasmeen, laughing and calling us crazy, stayed onshore to watch over our bathrobes. We even met a few other plunging groups—all women! It was like a little tribe of cold-water swimmers, all sharing that same wild and exhilarating energy.

November 24: Week 9

Monday 25th Nov
Yesterday was a beautiful surprise. After weeks of cold, the day turned out sunny and warm, with temperatures around 15 degrees. It was quite windy, though, and the water has dropped to 11 degrees now. Staying in for long is getting harder—the cold grips my chest and makes it hard to breathe. But as soon as I get out, this incredible wave of warmth rushes over me, and the rush of dopamine, the sheer feeling of being alive, makes it all worth it. My friend Jasmeen came along, keeping an eye on my clothes so they didn’t blow away in the wind while I braved the water. Afterward, we sat together drinking tea, chatting, and soaking in the golden light of the afternoon sun. Such a simple but perfect moment.

November 17: Week 8

Monday 18th Nov
Today was intense. When we got to the beach, the wind was blowing sand everywhere, and the waves were a total mess. For a moment, I almost bailed. But Tristan hyped me up—reminding me that we’d biked all the way here (okay, it’s just 8 minutes, but still). So I went for it, and I’m glad I did. The whole scene was wild. The waves were crashing into each other from every direction, and the current was dragging everything out to sea—it was ebb tide. I didn’t go far because the sea felt like it could swallow me whole, but I did take a quick plunge. It felt amazing, standing there in the middle of all that chaos. It really made me appreciate how powerful nature is.

November 10: Week 7

Sunday 10th Nov
Today’s swim was a real test of grit. With the air at 10°C and the water down to 13°C, it’s definitely getting tougher. But having the boys there cheering me on and giving me those “You’re crazy, but we’re proud” looks definitely helped:) Winter’s approaching fast, so I think I’ll need to start adding some extra cold showers during the week to keep up the tolerance.

November 3: Week 6

Monday 4th Nov
Yesterday was another cold but beautiful day for a swim. There’s something magical about Sunday afternoons at the beach—like letting the week sink away, only to be reborn in the icy water, refreshed and ready for whatever the new week brings.

October 27: Week 5

Sunday 27th Oct
Today was absolutely perfect! My mother-in-law joined me for the sea dive, and we couldn’t have asked for better autumn weather. The sun was shining, a light breeze stirred up powerful waves that swallowed us up before we even felt the chill. And we weren’t alone—so many fellow divers were out today! It’s amazing to see how popular these cold dips are becoming.

October 19: Week 4

Saturday 19th Oct
Today’s double plunge was a chilly one with both the air and water at 14 degrees, but we made it extra special by combining it with a morning beach sauna! The perfect way to kick off the weekend—cold dips, warm sauna, and pure bliss.

October 13: Week 3

Saturday 19th Oct
With the air at 12 degrees and water at 15, I hesitated before diving in. The warmer water felt surprisingly nice at first, but it didn’t take long to realize—it was still pretty cold! In the end, though, it was all worth it for that warm, refreshed feeling afterward.

October 5: Week 2

Saturday 19th Oct
Sunny skies and 16 degrees made it feel like beach weather again, though the sea is starting to cool off with 16 degrees 🥶 Vero and I teamed up for an energizing plunge—each swim keeps us feeling a little more alive!

September 29: Week 1

Saturday 19th Oct
Last week, it still felt like beach weather, but now the challenge begins! Took a plunge in the chilly 12-degree air today. Luckily, the water is hanging onto some summer warmth at 18 degrees. :) It’s getting colder, but feeling more excited than ever!
