Earth Overshoot Day is next Thursday 24th July. On this day, humanity will have used up nature’s entire annual budget of ecological resources and services for the year. I wanted to take some time to honour this, use as few resources as possible, and raise some money for a good, environmental cause.Â
Having recently watched David Attenborough’s “Oceans”, and being keenly interested in the fate of plastics (normally of the micro- and nano- variety!), I have decided that The Ocean Clean Up is a great cause; their current  bold aim is to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040!
Hence, Ash and I will be aiming to walk 66km (12 hours of 6km/hour with an hour’s break over the day) in a loop spanning Blackwater to Windsor, and we would really appreciate any kind donations you might be able to spare for this fantastic cause!
I will be exercising and raising funds at the same time. Please support me and The Ocean Cleanup by making any donation you can. The more people who know about this, the greater the impact. I would love it if you shared my fundraiser with friends, family, and more.Â
