The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit with the mission of ridding the oceans of plastic, entirely funded by donations from people like us all around the world.

I’m proud to support this mission, and I’d like to ask for your help. Your contribution will go directly to The Ocean Cleanup as they work to remove plastic from oceans and rivers. Together we can be a part of the solution to ocean plastic pollution.

Distance

Whatever contribution you can offer, large or small, is vital to this mission. But, the top donor to this fundraiser will receive the painting 'Distance' (2024), valued at $10,000. *

Distance is a pivitol work for Nicholas Cueva, the first piece after his very successful 'Beautiful View' (2024), recently featured in 'All About Love' at St. Joseph's University, Brooklyn. 'Distance', a reaction to 'Beautiful View' deals with the uncomfortable nature and unknown. Where 'Beautiful View' leaned into the classic warm and generous portrait, the hidden portrait in 'Distance' is more severe, cold and tense, like the changing of the ocean in a minute. 'Distance' is regarded as a fine piece of highly durable and memorable materials, one critic noted that it 'made me feel like I should button my collar'.
