Please help me raise money to clean our oceans for my birthday!

Hello! My birthday is coming up in a few weeks, and recently I've been doing some thinking about the issues that are important to me. I have always been concerned about the environment, and it's becoming clear that our over-reliance on single-use plastics is a major problem for the health of our oceans. As of now, there does not seem to be a solution, but after doing some research, I found The Ocean Cleanup and decided that I would like to support their cause until we find better, safer alternatives to plastic products.

Before becoming a licensed veterinary technician, I got my BS in Ecology at Rutgers University, but could not figure out a life path for myself in that field. I decided to pursue a career in caring for animals instead, since when I was a child, I had considered becoming a veterinarian. I never stopped caring about the environment, but I have recently been feeling like I should be doing more to safeguard our future for future generations. We only have one Earth, and it deserves our respect for all it provides us.

The Ocean Cleanup’s mission is to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me get the word out. I have no need for physical objects for my birthday, but all of us need a healthy ocean. Please consider donating to this cause.
