I was a teenager when I first learned about Ocean Cleanup and the great pacific garbage patch. It blew my mind how this team came together to build such an incredible solution to the issue. I want to join these great minds one day, when the time is right. For now, I'm choosing to do my part in helping them reach their goal. I am setting out to raise $6200 and walk or run (whatever my body allows) 620 miles in 6 months.Â
The great pacific garbage patch is roughly 620,000 square miles. My goal is to walk or run one thousandth of the total area of the patch. The Ocean Cleanup’s mission is to remove 90% of floating oceans plastic by 2040, and to do that they need funds and human power.Â
