Two More Runs – Getting Closer to My 100k Goal! 🐢💙

It’s been a busy few weeks, and I’ve done two more runs for my 100k challenge! 

On the 5th of October, I ran another 2k as part of my journey to help clean our oceans and protect the turtles. It was such a fun morning, and I felt proud to keep adding more kilometres to my total.

Then, on Saturday the 11th of October, I took on a 5k run at the Cycle Route 43 Ystalyfera Parkrun! I had such a great time—the atmosphere was amazing, and everyone was so kind and encouraging. The route was beautiful, and I loved running alongside so many friendly people.

I finished my run in 41 minutes, which is two and a half minutes faster than my first 5k! 

This was only my second 5k, so I was really proud of myself for improving and getting stronger already. It felt so good to cross the finish line knowing I’m making progress with every step! 💙

I’ve now completed a total of 14k out of my 100k goal, and I’ve already raised an amazing £218! 💙 

I can’t believe how generous and supportive everyone has been—it makes me so happy to know that together we’re helping the turtles and making a difference for our oceans. 🐢🌊

Remember, we can all help protect our oceans every day by:
♻️ Recycling properly and avoiding single-use plastics
🚯 Putting rubbish in the bin so it doesn’t end up in the sea
💧 Using reusable bottles and cups instead of disposable ones
🛍️ Bringing our own bags when shopping
🏖️ Joining local clean-ups to keep beaches and parks tidy

Every little thing we do helps the planet and the turtles that call the ocean home. 💙

My Second Run – Junior 2k Parkrun in Aberystwyth 🐢

Today I completed my second run for my 100k challenge. I took part in the Junior 2k Parkrun in Aberystwyth, and the weather couldn’t have been better—it was a beautiful, sunny day. ☀️

I set off with lots of excitement, and with everyone around me cheering, I felt so motivated to keep going. I finished the run in 13 minutes and 2 seconds, and I was really proud of myself when I crossed the finish line. Every run makes me stronger and takes me one step closer to completing my 100k goal.

So far, I’ve now run 7k of my 100k challenge, and I’ve already raised an amazing €191! 💙 I can’t believe how generous and kind people have been—it means so much to me.

Every kilometre I run is for the turtles, who are my favourite animal. 🐢 They need our help because plastic and pollution are destroying their ocean homes. That’s why I’m running—to raise money to clean up our oceans and protect turtle habitats.

But it’s not just about fundraising—we can all do little things every day to help stop more rubbish and plastic from entering our oceans:

• ♻️ Recycle properly – make sure bottles, cans, and paper go into the recycling bin.

• 🚯 Never litter – always put rubbish in the bin so it doesn’t get washed into rivers or seas.

• 💧 Use a reusable water bottle instead of buying single-use plastic bottles.

• 🛍️ Bring your own shopping bag instead of using plastic ones.

• 🍴 Say no to plastic straws and cutlery and use reusable alternatives.

• 🏖️ Join a beach or park clean-up – even picking up a few bits of rubbish makes a difference!

If we all do small things like this, together we can make a big change for the oceans and for turtles. 🌊💙

My First 5k – The Start of My 100k Challenge! 🐢💙

Today was such an exciting day—I officially started my

100k challenge! 🎉 I went to Parc Coed Gwilym Parkrun and ran my very first 5k.

It was raining when we set off, but that didn’t stop me.  Everyone was so supportive and cheered me on along the way, which made me feel really proud and gave me the energy to keep going. Every time I thought it was getting tough, I remembered the turtles and why I’m doing this challenge—to help clean our oceans and protect their homes. 🐢

I finished my first 5k in 43 minutes and 36 seconds! 

I felt so happy crossing the finish line, and even though I was tired and wet from the rain, I couldn’t stop smiling.

This is just the beginning of my journey. I’ve now completed 5k of my 100k goal—only 95k to go before the big finish at the Swansea 10k in September 2026!

Nova Runs to Save the Turtles 🐢💙

Hi, my name is Nova! I am 7 years old, and my favourite  animal in the whole world is the turtle. Sadly, turtles are in danger because of all the plastic and pollution in our oceans. They sometimes eat plastic thinking it’s food, which makes them very sick, and they can get trapped in things like fishing nets. I want to help protect them by supporting ocean clean-up projects that make their homes safer.

That’s why I’ve set myself a very big challenge! 🏃‍♀️🌊

Over the next year, I am going to run 100 kilometres by 20th September 2026. To make it even more special, I will finish my challenge at the Swansea 10k. This is my way of showing how much I care about the ocean and turtles—and I hope to inspire others to care too!

My goal is to raise £1,000 to give to projects that work hard to clean up our oceans and protect turtle habitats. Every pound will make a difference—helping remove plastic from the water, making beaches safer for baby turtles, and giving sea life a cleaner, healthier home.

This is going to be a tough challenge, but every step I take will remind me of the turtles I’m running for. 🐢 Every kilometre will bring me closer to helping them swim safely in clean oceans.
